Advice to crewsTry to bring soft sports style luggage rather than a rigid suitcase as this takes up less space and will be easier to stow on the boat. Recommended wear includes trousers (short or long) t-shirts or shirts, swimsuits and a sweater for the evening. Don't forget your beach shoes or yachting shoes should be white-soled as black soles can leave marks on the deck. When sailing you are constantly exposed to the sun's rays, and so it is essential to use protective sun creams, sun glasses and a cap or hat. Once you have embarked and are enjoying life on board try to make rational use of the water supplies. Try not to leave lights on or waste fresh water by unnecessary consumption, so there will be no need to return to port to replenish your stocks. |
